Tick

She/Bug/They | Deity gone mad

"I can't believe I never saw it before..."

Deity of time, chosen and ascended to their place, and driven to madness by the power. Tick has
learned to care for nothing but her own desires.
Tick remembers not, where bug came from. Not because she forgot, no... Because she
remembers too much. Thousands of other lives, herself from other timelines, she has all of
their memories. She can hear all of their thoughts. Feel the pull of their desires. Thousands of
lives that do not belong to them.

But she found a way to make it stop.
Her status as a deity, it gives her power. Her actions hold weight, no matter what timeline she's in.
When Tick does something, its permanant, alters the state of time forever.
She can kill them. Erase them. Bug's head gets just a little quieter, some of the memories go away.
And so she'll find a way. She'll kill them all, and achieve the impossible. It doesn't matter, that
its a futile endevour, that she still doesn't know who they are, that she can't even remember
why she does this anymore.
Tick must kill. Be the only one left standing. It's the only way.

The only way.

"My destiny calls me, and I open the door!"

Personality

Tick is unpredictable, a creature of no morals or care, Tick does what bug pleases without regard to the
impacts on other people. This lack of care gives them a nonchalant attitude towards the world; She is
happy-go-lucky, almost scarily so, an unflappable and difficult to anger figure who takes everything
thrown at bug in casual stride.
Tick does as she pleases, when she pleases. She can be, and often is friendly, but she can just as easily flip
on a dime to become a source of unstoppable torment. Bug has few limits, and other people are mere more
than sources of entertainment to them.

Tick, while difficult to necessarily irritate, will do things their way, and takes offense to anyone who tries
to get in her way. Bug's way of thinking is nigh impossible to discern, as they go about things in ways
often convoluted and contridictory, in a way not even bug seems able to explain.

Her fatal flaw, though, is her inability to ever be satisified. Tick is insatiable, always craving more, never quite
perfect enough for what bug wants. Everything they do simply must be the best that its ever been, or she
simply cannot, WILL not stop until it is. Bug will not settle until it is.
Perfection does not exist. A existance without herself does not exist. Tick keeps going anyway.
And if Tick's creations are not perfect... Then they will destroy them, and start again.

But at their core, Tick always wraps back to that core desire: To kill off all those other selves.
Nothing else truly matters, beyond that central goal.
Everything else is just a distraction.

Trivia

  • Technically a robot, her "skin" is made of cloth, and her skeleton is made of metal, cog and rotor. Despite this, her internals have no need to function any longer, thanks to her acension to deity-hood

  • Doesn't have any real "fur" because of being made of cloth and fabric. She is not fluffy. In fact bug is probably textured similarly to a t-shirt, and anything on her that looks fluffy is just shaped that way. Do not be fooled.

  • Her "blood" is oil.

  • The right side of her face is smashed open from ear to jaw, revealing her skull and inner workings beneath. She hides this beneath the curl of her hair.

  • This internal skeleton of hers resembles a cat skeleton in appearance.

  • Despite this, her body is moreso designed to resemble a raccoon, with small "fingers" over paws. She is around the same size as a raccoon too.

  • Bugs winding key and middle set of legs are directly connected to her skeleton.

  • They passively tick like a clock, the sound speeding up and slowing down when she speaks. The winding key in her head also turns passively, directly connected to this sound.

  • She has learned how to tune out the mental voices by now, but she naturally feels pulled towards them when sharing the same timeline with them

  • Tick has no reflection in mirrors. Bug can only appear on one side of them, but when inside a mirror, she will appear over the top of anything else reflected within.

  • Has taken over a world in one timeline for her own purposes, destroying most life upon in it to effectively use as her own grounds to live upon and do as bug pleases with.

  • This world is naught but cracked, scorched earth and towering cities now, although some plantlife has clung on in places.

  • Occassionally keeps parts of her alternate timeline selves, in an attempt to rebuild them into something "better". This often ends in them tearing them apart again.

  • Despite all her power, Tick much prefers to only use them to timeline hop, getting her hands dirty to do much of anything else instead of using her powers practically.

  • Tick cannot see her own future.

    Powers

  • Tick is fully able to see through time, and into any timeline - She's able to travel throughout the timelines as they please, without much regard to concepts such as "paradoxes". Being the god of it, she's fully immune to the consequences of her meddling in the timelines, and her actions have a level of permanance upon the fabric of time. She can willingly reformat a timeline into something new, if she so chooses.

  • As this implies, Tick does not necessarily experience time "linearly". She's able to view the moments of the world out of order, skipping around and stopping and starting as bug pleases.

  • Could very much inflict this non-linear experience of time upon others (aka: locking them in a timeloop) if they so please.

  • Tick travels from place to place using mirrors and reflective surfaces - They're able to enter them at will, and they act as bugs "doors" over long distances and in and out of the timeline.

  • She tends to already know everything about people around her before even having a conversation with them - She can see someones entire history, and future, at mere more than a glance.

  • Has a one-sided mental connection with every other version of herself in other timelines - She has their memories, hear their thoughts, and see through their eyes if she tries to. Their lives effectively play on loop in the back of her mind, unable to be stopped, unless she goes out of her way to remove them permanantly. This ability used to completely overwhelm bug, and she has to purposefully tune them out constantly.

  • When sharing a timeline with her alternate selves, bug feels a mental pull towards them and general awareness of their location at all times.

  • Unable to be truly physically harmed, as her body regenerates on its own. She does experience pain and can be temporarily stopped by injuring her hard enough... But that doesn't exactly mean anything to a creature that does not experience the concept of time.

  • She can passively float around, and has to actively choose to stand.
